Liupanshui, A Southern China Ice and Snow City in Guizhou | Meihuashan Ski Resort Unveils a Combined Skiing and Snow Village Experience

Meihuashan Ski Resort is scheduled to open to the public on January 8.

In preparation for the new winter season, the resort has completed a full upgrade of its facilities. The improvements include 60 low-temperature snowmaking machines, four high-temperature ice making systems, two snow groomers, four snowmobiles, and a 1,280-meter snow conveyor belt. The resort now offers 5,000 sets of ski equipment and can accommodate up to around 5,000 visitors simultaneously. The resort operates daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with more than 300 newly installed professional lighting units significantly enhancing night skiing conditions.

Alongside these upgrades, the scenic area has introduced a carefully designed Southern Snow Village setting. 98 snow covered wooden cabins glow with warm lights as red lanterns reflect off the snow and cooking smoke drifts gently through the air, creating a vivid northern style snow village atmosphere. Visitors can wander among the snow lined cabins, take photos at signature landmarks such as giant snowmen and snowbound wooden houses, and take part in immersive themed attractions including the Bear House experience.

The snow village hosts multiple daily programs, including performances drawn from intangible cultural heritage traditions, acrobatic mini shows, and interactive NPC activities, running continuously from day into night. A range of regional foods is also available, including traditional northeastern iron pot braised dishes and Guizhou-style potato fritters, adding further depth to the winter experience.

Transport services have been further improved, with 1,500 additional parking spaces and complimentary shuttle buses now in operation. A direct shuttle service connecting Liupanshui Railway Station to the ski resort has also been launched, providing convenient access for visitors.

With all preparations now complete, the resort stands ready to welcome guests and showcase the distinctive appeal of ice and snow in southern China.
