On February 12, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Li Gang (also the leader of the group for coronavirus control and prevention) hosted a meeting. On the meeting, leaders heard briefings about the progress in the Pannan and Dawan low calorific value (LCV) coal power plants, the construction of No.5 and No.6 generator sets of Pannan power plant, as well as the construction of power supply engineering, and discussed about how to further push forward the development of major projects without affecting coronavirus control and prevention.

Member of CPC Liupanshui Standing Committee and First Deputy Mayor Hou Meichuan (also the vice leader of the group for coronavirus control and prevention), and Deputy Mayor Li Hengchao (also the vice leader of the group for coronavirus control and prevention) attended the meeting.

It was pointed out at the meeting that, currently, coronavirus control and prevention reaches a critical phase and the situation is complex and grave. Efforts should be focused on coronavirus control and prevention in accordance with the requirements from the central government and provincial and municipal authorities. Various measures must be implemented strictly to screen all possible patients. People from outside the city, when entering Liupanshui, must be isolated and observed for 14 days before they are allowed to join the communities. Staff in major projects should return to work orderly when necessary conditions are met.

As an important energy base in Guizhou province and a major stop in the west-east electricity transmission project, the construction of Pannan and Dawan LCV coal power plants, the construction of No.5 and No.6 generator sets of Pannan power plant, and the construction of power supply engineering are of great importance. In the face of the outbreak of the epidemics, Assurance services and preliminary work such as planning, environmental assessment, land preparation and water supply should be guaranteed, to create favorable conditions for construction as soon as possible. Leaders of government institutions and departments concerned must take the lead for planning and deployment. Supervisors of specific projects need to make detailed plans, improve the task lists, and strengthen coordination, having everything in place for future construction.

Secretary General Luo Zixiang, leaders from relevant departments, owners of projects, and leaders from Panzhou and Zhongshan also attended the meeting.
