A research team led by Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Li Gang visited kiwi enterprises in Shuicheng County and Liuzhi Special District on August 29 to learn about the development of the kiwi industry and held a symposium. Li Gang emphasized that parties concerned must be confident and strengthen methods to jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of the kiwi industry.
Member of Liupanshui CPC Standing Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shuicheng County Zhang Zhixiang attended part studies and surveys. Deputy Mayor Wang Chenggang participated in the symposium.
The team visited Faer Town, Miluo Town, and Houchang Village of Shuicheng County, and Yuelianghe Village and Xinyao Town of Liuzhi Special District, to conduct a field research on the construction of the kiwi base and the production and sales of kiwi fruits. Wherever he visited, Li Gang learned in detail the area under cultivation, output, price, and infrastructure, and encouraged the farmers to carry out healthy competition and exchange experiences for further development. He pointed out that field researches should be organized to let kiwi enterprises and farmers improve their management, plant better kiwis, and achieve higher income.
The team held a symposium that night. On the symposium, Li Gang listened to the comments from kiwi production and sales companies and farmers, and arranged the work for further development of the kiwi industry. Li Gang pointed out that, the kiwi industry has become a representative industry in the city’s agriculture structural adjustment, a major industry to help the people increase income, a “business card” of Liupanshui for industrial development, and a must to meet demands of the new era. He asked parties concerned to remove the doubts, address the salient issues, mitigate potential risks, to develop the kiwi industry into a pillar industry for the city’s agriculture structural adjustment. To be specific, to put product quality first by adopting strict standard through the entire production process; To establish a professional service team that is well trained and can provide high level services; To strengthen brand construction and set up stable distribution channels, building our brand of “Mini Hong” brand of red pulp kiwi; To play the role of leading enterprises, improve enterprise cooperation system, and standardize enterprise management, achieving joint development; To explore new opportunities such as establishing “fund pool” and industry fund, to overcome shortages of funding; to foster the kiwi industry culture and establish a platform for communication and cooperation with parties from China and abroad, further promoting the development of the kiwi industry; And to encourage the kiwi industry association to mobilize farmers to share technologies and sales resources.
Secretary General of the municipal government Luo Zixiang, leaders from departments under the direct supervision of the municipal government, Liuzhi Special District, and Shuicheng County, as well as representatives of kiwi enterprises and farmers in Liupanshui attended the researches and symposium.
