On the afternoon of July 19, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Li Gang hosted a meeting for economic performance analysis and scheduling in the first half of 2017. He emphasized that the city should place a relatively greater priority on the implementation of goal-oriented economic development, to better fulfill its missions.

Having heard the statements by directly affiliated institutions, local governments (at municipal, special district, and district levels), and management committee of Zhongshan Economic Development Zone, Li Gang fully recognized the achievement made during the first half of this year in Liupanshui. He said that since the beginning of 2017, under the guidance of the provincial committee and Guizhou Provincial Government, departments at all levels of Liupanshui have spare no efforts to promote reform, adjust the economic structure, stabilize the growth, benefit the people, and take practical measures to prevent risks. As a result, the economic performance in the first half of 2017 presents a favorable growth momentum with stable, vigorous and rapid development, basically completing the work as planned.
In consideration of the work in the second half of this year, Li Gang stated that the government work report and the tasks and requirements specified in the municipal economic work meeting should be taken as the guidance, to address shortcomings and further promote the advantages, welcoming the opening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. To be specific, to find the vulnerabilities and address them; to accelerate the industrial transformation and upgrade; an to promote the comprehensive improvement of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries. To build on strengths and address weaknesses: promote the industry of vegetables and traditional Chinese medicine cultivation and chicken farm, accelerate the development of livestock production, establish modern agricultural gardens, focus on the development of market entity and industry platform, to constantly enhance the quality and profit of agricultural products with mountainous characteristics. To optimize the coal storage in flood season, adjust the structure of coal products and expand the coal market, speed up the integration of mining of coal and gas, promote the development of related industries such as basalt, manganese materials, and aluminum, and strive to foster new growth engine. To make full use of the tourism resources, ramp up propaganda efforts, improve the service level in scenery spots, and promote the spurt in tourism.
He asked all relevant sectors to focus on the construction of major projects, make preparation for critical projects, promote the stable and healthy development of real estate, keep enlarging the valid investment, and make the economic development sustainable. The spirit of the national financial meeting should be carried out to provide more channels for financing. To be frugal by strengthening the rigid constraints of financial budget and make sure that funds are spent as effectively as possible. To promote poverty alleviation, speed up relocation, and walk the talk to actively improve the people's livelihood. To successfully hold the China-ASEAN International Production Capacity Cooperation Forum Tuole, deepen the cooperation with ASEAN countries and further open up. To ensure flood control and prevent geologic hazard, safeguarding the security of life and property of the people.
