The correspondent was told by relevant department On October 8 that, there was no tourism-related major security incidents occurred during the National Day Holiday, and no valid complaints about tourism services were reported. The target of a “safe, order, quality, profitable, and civilized” holiday was achieved.
Departments at all levels made adequate preparations for tourism in the holiday. And during the holiday, they strengthened prevention and safeguards, and took effective measures to deal with emergency. Both the supply and demand in the tourism market increased.
Diversified activities were provided and various tourism products were available. Abundant promotions that focused on the theme of tourism in autumn attracted a great number of visitors. For example, there are events promoting the National Day Holiday, the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, and the 40th anniversary of the founding of Liupanshui. Visitors actively participated in the events featuring indigenous culture, thus driving the consumption.
Major scenic spots were popular destinations of visitors, demonstrating the importance of brand effect. There are eight 4A scenic spots in the city. During the past holiday, all these areas, together with the peripheral rural spots and farmhouses made a bucket of money.
Tourism development is balanced in the city, and there is an initial success of rural area revitalization. In recent years, Liupanshui has strengthened poverty alleviation through tourism development, and conducted nine key projects such as tourism project construction and scenic spots construction, to considerably enrich the products in the tourism market. To date, there are 6 class A villages; 8 five-star farmhouses, 14 four-star farmhouses, 93 three-star farmhouses; and 7 boutique (five-star) inns, 18 four-star inns, 51 three-star inns. All relevant units have met the standards for safety, kitchen and restroom. During the holiday, the scenic spots in villages and even remote areas attracted many visitors.
Visitors came from around the country, and most of them chose self-driving tours. A great majority of visitors came from areas near Liupanshui, and many of them selected self-driving tours. Visitors outside Guizhou Province were mainly from Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guangdong. Preliminary statistics indicated that, half self-driving visitors visited Niangniang Mountain, cave and bamboo forest, Baiche River, and other scenic spots.
Smart tourism unveiled. A cell phone can guarantee free access in the city. After negotiation with businesses in sectors of hotels, scenic sports, restaurants and travel agencies in Liupanshui, the “Free access in Liupanshui” application program was successfully applied in 64 businesses, covering tourism products of major scenic spots, hotels and travel agencies of the city. The mall of the app supports online shopping. Therefore, tourists can basically visit around the city with this app installed in the phone.
In the future, Liupanshui will keep promoting the development of tourism infrastructure and public services, to provide a better environment for visitors. Besides, the city will actively plan out the promotion of winter activities, further the construction of smart tourism platform for smart supervision, and develop the scenic spots to provide enhanced experiences for tourists, accelerating the sustained and healthy development of the tourism industry in the city.
