How is the GDP calculated? How is the income of urban and rural residents assessed? How can enterprises use statistical data to promote development? The ninth “National Statistics Day” was held on September 20 in the people’s square of Liupanshui. This event under the theme of “understanding the fourth national economic census” was organized by the municipal statistics bureau. Thirty member units attended the event to promote the fourth national economic census, the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the statistical measurement and governance according to law, and relevant content.
Member of CPC Liupanshui Standing Committee and First Deputy Mayor Fu Zhaoxiang made an on-site inspection.
At 10 o’clock in the morning, staff from relevant departments started to set up the exhibition booth and give out brochure to the citizens. They also explained the close link between statistics and the people, introduced the economic development of the city in the past four decades, and promote the fourth economic census results in Liupanshui.
“People are not familiar with statistics. In fact, statistics is right there, near us. The industrial production level of enterprises, the operating income of small and micro businesses and the salary of workers are all figures that should be included in statistics, and they constitute a part of the GDP.” It is hoped that, through the series activities, the citizens could get a deeper understanding of statistics and be clear about their own responsibilities and obligations.
A total of 5000 brochures were distributed that day.
